Since 1981 the Dominican Republic is developing it's touristical
areas. Today you will find 6 touristically developed - so called
"resorts", all with their own International Airports and short
tranfer times to the Hotels.
The first developed touristical area in the Dominican Republic is
Bavaro / Punta Cana, known as Punta Cana, as Bavaro / Punta Cana is
a 20 miles white sandy beach strip with plenty of coconut palmtrees.
One of the worlds finest beaches ( TOP10) is Punta Cana ...
So the Dominican Republic is known for Punta Cana as of it's beaches
and hotels.
